Dogstar Rising by Parker Bilal is the follow up to the very successful first title in the Makana Mystery Series, The Golden Scales. In Makana Parker Bilal had created a great lead character, with a dry and philosophical take on the strange circumstances he finds himself in, so I am looking forward to joining him on his next adventure.

The Art of Leaving is the latest title from Anna Stothard, author of the Orange Prize 2012 longlisted The Pink Hotel. I have not read any of Stothard’s earlier titles, but this synopsis sounds great. Both titles are from Bloomsbury Australia.
