Chunkster Reading Challenge 2010 & Global Reading Challenge Sign-Up

I’ve signed up to the Chunkster Reading Challenge 2010 now being hosted by Caribousmom.
Definition of a Chunkster: A chunkster is 450 pages or more of ADULT literature (fiction or nonfiction)
I’m committing to the Mor-book-ly Obese challenge level!  This is for the truly out of control chunkster. For this level of challenge you must commit to 6 or more chunksters OR three tomes of 750 pages or more.
At this stage, I plan to read the following chunksters in 2010:
A Place of Greater Safety by Hilary Mantel, 880pgs (classifies as a tome = 2 chunksters)

2010 Global Reading Challenge

I’ve signed up to the 2010 Global Reading Challenge hosted by Dorte & Kerri

I’m signing up for the Easy Challenge level but I’ll see how I go, may upgrade to Medium if my 2010 reading goes well.

The Easy Challenge involves reading one novel from each of these continents in the course of 2010: Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe, North America (incl Central America), South America.

From your own continent: try to find a country, state or author that is new to you.

I’ve got plenty of books set in Australasia, Europe, North America and South America already on my TBR shelf and wishlist, but haven’t got anything that’s set in Africa or Asia yet. Any recommendations?

Update – I’ve decided to upgrade to the Medium Challenge Level – that’s 2 books from each continent!
