Aussie Author Challenge 2011 – Wrap Up
What a crazy year 2011 has been! Thankfully in respect to reading it’s been a great one…
As host of the Aussie Author Challenge 2011, I thought it high time I posted my own challenge completion list.
During 2011 I read or listened to the following titles by Australian authors:
QUEEN OF THE FLOWERS – Kerry Greenwood
DREAMS OF SPEAKING – Gail Jones
THE BROKEN SHORE – Peter Temple
THE FORGOTTEN GARDEN – Kate Morton
THE FIVE GREATEST WARRIORS – Matthew Reilly
THE CHICKEN THIEF – Fiona Leonard
OSCAR AND LUCINDA – Peter Carey
PEOPLE OF THE BOOK – Geraldine Brooks
AVENUE OF ETERNAL PEACE – Nicholas Jose
MURDER ON A MIDSUMMER NIGHT, A Phryne Fisher Mystery – Kerry Greenwood
DE LUXE, A Jack Susko Mystery – Lenny Bartulin
UPSIDE DOWN INSIDE OUT – Monica McInerney (review coming soon)
SCARECROW AND THE ARMY OF THIEVES – Matthew Reilly (review coming soon)

So that’s 18 books by 16 different Australian authors, 8 male and 8 female.
On that basis I have well and truly met the requirements for the TRUE BLUE level of participation in the challenge.
TRUE BLUE – Read and review 12 books by Australian authors (at least 9 different authors)

I do hope you all enjoyed the 2011 Aussie Author Challenge. Challenge participants provided links to almost 200 reviews of books by Australia authors. This list is a great reference point when choosing your next book.
The Aussie Author Challenge is back in 2012 for its third year, and is a great way to help fulfil that New Year’s resolution to read more books by Australian authors.
