Australian Literature Month 2012
Regular readers of Booklover Book Reviews will know that despite having broad reading tastes, I am a supporter of Australian authors through my Aussie Author Challenge now in its third year.
This year some other wonderful bloggers have also taken up the flag hosting great initiatives to promote the works of Australian authors to an international audience. These include Elizabeth’s 2012 Australian Women Writers Challenge and Kim’s Australian Literature Month 2012.
What am I doing as part of Australian Literature Month?
- I posted my initial reading list (bound to add titles as the year progresses) for my participation in the Aussie Author Challenge and Australian Women Writers Challenge.
- Last week I finished listening to Matthew Reilly’s latest in audio, Scarecrow and The Army of Thieves – Australia’s bestselling fiction title in 2011. See what other Australian author’s titles were included in the top ten lists for 2011 at AustLit News‘ great summary of the Nielson Book Scan Australia data release. My review of this high octane action thriller coming soon.
- I am hosting a great Australian giveaway that is open internationally! One lucky reader will win a 3 Book Jack Susko Mystery Prize Pack, from the talented Australian author Lenny Bartulin courtesy of Scribe Publications.
- I am currently reading Indelible Ink by Fiona McGregor. This novel has been short-listed for numerous literary awards and won The Age Book of the Year Award 2011. Read my teaser from the novel here…
- Before the end of the month I also plan to read In the Winter Dark by Tim Winton.
