Australian Book Industry Awards 2013 – the Shortlists

The Australian Book Industry Awards (ABIA) will be announced on Friday night as part of the Sydney Writer’s Festival this week.

So before the winners are announced I thought it worth recapping which titles have been short-listed.

Unfortunately I have only had the opportunity to read one of these titles so far, The Amber Amulet by Craig Silvey. While it is good, I do not think it’s up to the quality of this much loved author’s previous works. While I haven’t read their latest titles I am a fan of the work of Toni Jordan and Kate Morton also.
