Queensland Poetry Festival 2013

Those artistically inclined folk living in Brisbane, Australia should check out the upcoming 17th annual Queensland Poetry Festival 2013 : spoken in one strange word being held at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts.

Queensland Poetry Festival 2013

I was lucky enough to attend the opening of last year’s festival and was extremely impressed by the talent on display. I hope to be able to make it to the festival opening this year also.

After the official opening ceremony where the recipients of the 2013 Arts Queensland Poetry Awards will be announced, guests can go on to enjoy the show Set Fire to the Air. This show’s line-up including Shane Rhodes, Jacqueline Turner, TT.O and singer-songwriter Bertie Blackman sounds excellent.

For anyone that has appreciated poetry in the written form but never had the opportunity to experience works being performed by their authors live, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

There is an impressive local and international line up with many sessions free to attend. Checkout the Queensland Poetry Festival Program at this link.
