Booklover Mailbox – Look for Her, The Genius Plague and Atlantic Black

Emily Winslow - Look for Her, David Walton - The Genius Plague and A S Patric - Atlantic Black

Three advance copies of titles by some of my favourite authors added to the reading pile recently…

Look for Her by Emily Winslow

This is the fourth title in Emily Winslow‘s highly regarded literary thriller series starring detectives Morris Keene and Chloe Frohmann.

Annalise Wood has haunted the town of Lilling near Cambridge for decades. She went missing in 1976 and while her body was found years later, her name and memory have been etched into the community.

One girl who is especially interested in the case is Annalise Williams who believes that sharing a name with the dead girl has created a connection between them. As Morris Keene and his former partner, Detective Inspector Chloe Frohmann, are called in to reinvestigate the original case, they must question previous assumptions and piece together a forty-year-old puzzle that has fresh roots in a mysterious present-day drowning.

October release. Review copy thanks to Allison & Busby.

I highly recommend previous titles in this series, including The Start of Everything and The Red House.

The Genius Plague by David Walton

Walton’s previous novels, Superposition and Supersymmetry, were bonafide page turners — a potent mix of science, action, thriller and heart. So was excited to hear he has a new novel coming out…

THE CONTAGION IS IN YOUR MIND. In this science fiction thriller, brothers are pitted against each other as a pandemic threatens to destabilize world governments by exerting a subtle mind control over survivors.

Atlantic Black by A S Patric

Atlantic Black is the much anticipated new novel from Miles Franklin award-winning author A S Patric. I was blown away by Black Rock White City, so my expectations are high. It is garnering high praise from early reviewers, other talented literary authors:

‘A powerful and mesmerising voyage into darkness. Atlantic Black creates an indelible portrait of humanity sailing towards war.’ ~ Heather Rose, Winner of the 2017 Stella Prize

‘I am still walking the slick decks of Atlantic Black, looking for a way out for both myself and Katerina. She is a singular character – such a perfect and excruciating balance of acting and being acted upon. A brilliant and devastating novel that will not let me go.’ ~ Myfanwy Jones, author of Leap

November release. Review copy thanks to Transit Lounge Publishing.
