Who Drives Booklover Book Reviews?
Hi! I’m Jo, and I’m an unabashed book lover living in Brisbane, Australia. Since starting this website in 2009 I’ve come to realise I enjoy writing about books almost as much as reading them, and Booklover Book Reviews has become a much-valued creative outlet for me.
Booklover Book Reviews has a broad and continually growing Australian and international readership. New content is published regularly and site traffic is typically 12,000 page views per month. We have a domain authority of 39 and our feature articles and book reviews routinely appear on the first page of Google searches.
I launched the Aussie Author Challenge here on Booklover Book Reviews in 2009, and have run it annually ever since.
If you are interested in advertising on Booklover Book Reviews on a per month fixed price basis, either text link or quality image, please contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org. Link/product quality and compatibility with my site’s values will be taken into consideration.
I enjoy a range of genre, which is ever-expanding, but my favourites are:
Literature, Mystery, Adventure, Crime-Detective, Thriller, Humour, Contemporary Women’s Lit, Drama, Romance, selected Science-Fiction, Dystopian.
As much as I would love to be able to accept all the review requests I receive, I must keep my ‘reviews waiting’ list to a manageable level.
In this website’s infancy I responded to all personalised review offers received via email@example.com, but as Booklover Book Reviews has grown so too have the numbers of review requests, to a point where as much as I’d like to, I simply do not have the time to respond to all emails. However I assure you that all emails/offers are considered according to whether the book synopsis is a good fit for my reading mood at the time and how many other review commitments remain outstanding.
Whether or not I’m able to review or feature your title, please feel free to add it to the ‘Books Seeking Reviewers’ List at my Booklover Hub at any time.
Guest Author Articles
I welcome guest blogging pitches from authors. Our readership love hearing about the sources of inspirations for titles, ‘the story behind the novel’, and more generally about writers’ experiences on the road to publication.
Why write an article for publication on Booklover Book Reviews? This article “How to Use Guest Blogging to Promote Your Book” comprehensively answers this question.
I have found a great way of promoting a review, interview or guest blog is to hold a giveaway of the book at the same time. I am willing to host such giveaways if authors/publishers are willing to supply and deliver prize copies (preferably internationally).
I promote my giveaways on Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook, along with listings on competition sites such as Competition Database, Online-Sweepstakes, The Prize Finder, ContestGirl, Contest Corner, Win Free Stuff – AUS/NZ, etc.
Advertising and Commissions
Our website contains affiliate marketing links, which means we get paid commission on sales of some the products or services we write about, or actions taken by our readership via those links. Our editorial content is not influenced by advertisers or affiliate partnerships. Where a product (e.g. book) has been provided free for the purposes of review, this fact is disclosed in the article.
Comments: When visitors leave comments on the site it collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue and so that you can edit/update/delete the content entered at any time.
Forms: This website uses Google Forms to collect entrant information for Giveaways and information for listing in our Booklover Hub. All information collected this way is retained for no more than 6 months, and in regards to Giveaways, only those entrants that have won a prize will have their name and contact information provided to the relevant author/publisher to facilitate prize delivery.
Note that giveaway entry forms do include the question “Would you like to receive our Booklover Book Reviews newsletter? Emailed fortnightly, easily unsubscribe at any time.” Entrants can select either “Yes please (or I’m already a subscriber)” or “Not now, maybe later”. If entrants select the former, then entrants will have their email address only added to the MailChimp mailing list for the website’s fortnightly newsletter.
