Today the Armchair BEA team asks us what are the favourite books we have read so far in 2011?
Reflecting on this question made me realise I’ve definitely had an above average reading year so far…. lots of reading/listening experiences I have already recommended to others.

Rebecca and Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand are ‘must listen to’ audiobooks – compelling tales and characters delivered through flawless performances by their narrators. Of Love and Shadows was impossible to put down – action-packed, dramatic and an important social commentary.
The common thread amongst all 6 titles is outstanding writing – with all authors now on my must read list in the future based on these experiences.
Rhubarb, Dreams of Speaking and Room are all slightly left of centre and ecclectic – both in the subject matter explored and the style of prose. This is the type of novel that really piques my interest and the viewpoints presented stay with me long after reading.
Have you read any of these titles?
If so, did they make it to your Armchair BEA ‘Best of 2011… ‘ list?
